Malika Dahl “Shake them bones” is catchy and somehow more melodic than the other songs of the album “Famous Monsters” by Psyatics. The whole album didn’t really tug my heart strings, but this song reached me with its chords, lyrics and melody. No doubt, the band plays tight. Every note is placed with chaotic precision, which makes grunge what it is after all.
One thing I dislike is the limited option of buying songs. i would have loved to purchase "shake them bones" but that wasn't an option.

jendan Rock 'n' roll/garage/punk band The Psyatics spins a simmering, The Cramps-style storytelling yarn about a litany of real life, screw-loose serial killers on "Famous Monsters". The kinetically peppy drum beat keeps it up-tempo while roughly jagged electric guitar lines grind behind the lead singer's desperate exclamations that reference the infamous killers on a first name basis.

J.Smo In your face, energetic, raw rock and roll sprinkled with dissonant jazz, noisy surf rock and some serious punk attitude collide in this fierce and adrenaline pumping sonic ride. Famous Monsters is exciting, energizing and nothing short of rock and roll greatness! Those unexpected sprinkles of jazz just add to the goodness of these tasty jams.

lyrics

Famous Monsters
Uncle John just loved to dance with fate
His Pogo and the foxtrot unsurpassed
Alcohol to loosen up his dates
Picks ‘em young to please that pederast
He’s come to take his children home, and he…
Paints his face until the crawlspace fills its vacancy
Famous monster’s what he’s born to be
Charlie was a petty thief by trade
The free love movement, soon to be deceased
Through drugs and sex, he managed to persuade
Kids to kill the sixties dreams of peace
He don’t know how to surf apparently
Helter skelter, summer swelter, Spahn Ranch refugee
Famous monster’s what he’s born to be
Edward wasn’t one for waste, used all the skin and bones
Theodore’s the lady killer, which I don’t condone
The Zodiac was never found
David’s dog bossed him around
Henry Lee killed 350 before they tracked him down- yeah…
Albert didn’t like the taste of fish
But smells from baking kids, second to none
I know Mrs. Budd most likely got her wish
When he fried for doin’ what he done
Slipped needles in his groinal cavity
He did not waste a taste of Grace, enjoyed her with his tea
Famous monster’s what he’s born to be
