lyrics

The Great Caucasian Migration

I don’t like the way he looks
I’ve read about his kind in books
Lawn chairs in the yard, drinking libations
With their pistolas in the air, Cinco de Mayos and street fairs
They’re the ones that fuel this caucasian migration

Just because I cross the street
So you and I don’t have to meet
Does not mean I don’t understand you’re plight
So he wants to legalize his marriage to another guy
What do I care, hey at least he’s white

I’ve been outnumbered by these folks that I’ve kept down
Looks like I’ll have to pack up, move my family out of town

We’ll build community based on our ethnicity
Put our own in office, pass the laws
To protect, and yes, to serve, as long as we feel you deserve
The house responds with thunderous applause

I’ve been outnumbered by those folks who mow my lawn
I really don’t care what they do, soon I’ll be gone

If these words have left your throat
Looking for the world’s scapegoat
Shame on you, racist provocateur
The only thing worse than hate and ignorance you propagate
Is just standing by and letting it occur
